Hi, I'm Nate Carter.

I’m the creator of The Reset and Rise Method and an online fitness and wellness coach dedicated to helping adults 30+ rebuild strength, lose fat, and take back control of their health — physically and spiritually.

I Was Once in Your Shoes

After graduating from The Ohio State University, I began my career in fitness, training clients at Urban Active for a year. I always loved helping people. But at the time, I believed the “next right step” for my career was to move into Corporate America. So I accepted a position with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. It felt responsible, stable, and the smart career move. And in many ways, it was. I learned leadership, discipline, and business skills that still serve me today.

But slowly, my health began to slip.

Between company outings, happy hours, long work hours, eating out constantly, increased alcohol, and eventually picking up smoking, my habits slowly changed. At first, I didn’t see the problem. Then the signs appeared:

Clothes getting tighter.
Energy dropping.
My stomach hanging over my waistline.

By 2016, I couldn’t recognize myself anymore — physically or mentally.

I had gained over 60 pounds. I felt ashamed. Ashamed of how I looked. Ashamed that I had started smoking, especially knowing I had family members who had died from lung cancer. But if I’m being honest, I also lacked the motivation to change. I knew I was capable of more but I felt stuck.

Comfortable enough to stay the same.
Uncomfortable enough to hate it.

Every morning on my way to work, I would pass a gym offering early bootcamp classes and think: “I wish I had stayed in fitness.”

But wishing and doing are two different things.

The Turning Point

In September 2016, the stress and depression reached a breaking point. Enterprise and I made the mutual decision that I would step away at the end of the month. It was terrifying. I was walking away from stable income and health benefits with no clear plan. But in that season of uncertainty, I returned to something I had drifted from. My faith.

I began reading Scripture consistently again. I reconnected with God in a way I hadn’t in years. In March 2017, I was baptized — a defining moment in my life. For nearly a year, exercise and Scripture became my anchors. Step by step, habit by habit, I rebuilt my health — physically and spiritually.

The scale didn’t always move.
There were doubts.
There were setbacks.

But there was growth.
Confidence returned.
Strength returned.
Clothes fit again.

And more importantly, I felt aligned with who I was created to be.

Eventually, I was given the opportunity to coach at Orangetheory Fitness, where I spent five impactful years helping others transform their lives.

Then I felt called to build something of my own.

And that’s how the Reset and Rise Method was born.

Why I Do This

I don’t just coach from theory. I coach from experience.

I know what it feels like to feel out of control.
I know what it feels like to battle shame.
And I know what it feels like to rebuild from the ground up.

The Reset and Rise Method exists because transformation isn’t just about workouts or nutrition.

It’s about identity.
It’s about discipline.
It’s about faith.
It’s about becoming who you were meant to be.
